Relaxed and laid back, Kata provides a complete contrast to the hectic pace of Patong. Bordered by rocky headlands, Kata consists of two gently curving bays, Kata Yai and Kata Noi. The main beach, Kata Yai, offers just under a kilometre of white sand beach fringed by shady trees, while Kata Noi the smaller of the two, is wild and unpredictable from May - October and idyllic from december to April.
